The area of the Elgar showing is underlain by rock of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group. Several scattered mineralized quartz veins up to 1 metre wide are hosted in andesite and/or argillite. These veins contain pyrite-qalena-chalcopyrite-sphalerite and/or arsenopyrite.

A sample (6285) from the Elgar showing assayed 3.12 grams per tonne gold, 13.71 grams per tonne silver, 0.38 per cent lead, 0.40 per cent zinc and 0.48 per copper (Assessment Report 9233).
